2019 Good Design Award Winners

D+I collect another eight awards, including Best in Class and Good Design Award of the Year, at the 2019 Australian Good Design Awards Ceremony.

 

D+I have been honoured once again at the 2019 Good Design Awards Ceremony, taking out eight Good Design Awards, including Australia’s top design honour — 2019 Good Design Award of the Year. This is the second time D+I have received the top accolade, with Deepsea Challenger receiving the honour in 2012.

The prestigious Good Design Award® 'Best in Class' in the Medical and Scientific category went to the revolutionary Inventia Rastrum 3D Bioprinter, which then went on take out the 2019 Good Design Award of the Year.

 
 

Other winners were Telstra Locator in the Consumer Electronics category, the Everdure by Heston Blumenthal 4K Charcoal/Electric Outdoor Oven in the Domestic Appliances category and Emesent Hovermap and KORE Geosystems SPECTOR in the Commercial and Industrial category. The iKEON i-SERIES Smart Power Outlets and Light Switches won in the Hardware and Building category, and the Smart Move Spine from Joint Dynamics was awarded in the Medical and Scientific category.

Dr. Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia said: “Receiving a Good Design Award at this level is a significant achievement given the very high calibre of entries received this year.” The awards attracted a record number of submissions, with close to 700 projects evaluated in this year’s international design awards.
