Quickboats Folding Boat

Quickboats came to D+I with the task of re-engineering their existing folding boat product.

They wanted a boat of the highest quality that was ultra-light, that could be deployed in under two minutes and carried easily by two people — with all the elements stored in three bags and transported in a standard car.

D+I and the Quickboats development team explored lightweight composite panel construction, sophisticated hinging materials and elegant assembly methods to engineer a truly unique product — one that is protected by several patents.

We worked closely with the manufacturing facility in Thailand to ensure the integrity of the design was maintained through production. Colour, finishes and materials came together to create a compelling, and game-changing, final product.

Trailer not required.

The boat carries four adults and can be powered by a 10hp motor at full planing speeds. Quickboat promises to revolutionise the market by making boating accessible to a whole new group of customers who will no longer be burdened by the cost of owning a trailer. The boat simply folds and can then be easily stored on a garage wall or in a storage unit.
