IonOpticks HeatSync™ Controller

Designed by D+I Part of Capgemini for IonOpticks

The HeatSync™ Controller delivers the precise column temperature control essential for reproducible, high-quality results in high-performance liquid chromatography and proteomics. By holding exact setpoints as complex biological samples are separated and analysed, it provides researchers in drug development, diagnostics and personalised medicine with reliable data that drives breakthroughs in disease research and clinical applications.

HeatSync™ Controller is a purpose-built, dual-channel instrument that regulates UHPLC column temperature with “singular focused precision control.” By automatically recognising connected HeatSync™ peripherals and holding tight set-points for continuous 24/7 runs, it lowers system pressure, enables faster flow rates, and lifts throughput across proteomics, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical LC-MS workflows—meeting the accuracy and reproducibility demands of modern high-speed mass spectrometers.

A compact rounded-cube chassis combines a sheet-metal main enclosure, powder-coated rear housing, and satin-finish machined-metal front fascia, accented with dark-chrome details and laser-etched graphics for long-term clarity. A concave recess frames the 40 mm full-colour circular OLED (touch-to-wake), while a central knurled dial delivers live, incremental temperature adjustment. Symmetrical channel-select buttons with embedded LEDs show connection and activity, and logic-based UI transitions present distinct single- or dual-channel modes across the 30–60 °C range (40–60 °C recommended).

Inside, a custom PCB, embedded firmware, over-temperature protection, current-limited circuitry, and a COTS power supply ensure precision, safety, global compliance, and USB-C firmware-update capability. The controller’s small footprint and energy-efficient architecture reduce bench clutter and running costs, replacing over-specified generic heaters with a refined Australian-designed solution. By establishing a unified IonOpticks hardware and interface language, the HeatSync™ Controller simplifies advanced LC-MS temperature control for users and provides a scalable platform for future instrumentation. The HeatSync™ Controller keeps the focus on research, not settings, letting researchers concentrate on work that contributes to accelerating breakthroughs in cancer, personalised medicine, and drug development.
