The world’s first point-of-care (POC) blood coagulation analyser, Siemens Xprecia Stride™ wins a Red Dot Award
The international Red Dot Jury awarded the Xprecia Stride™ Coagulation Analyzer as a winner in the very competitive Product Design category. It was a noteworthy year to be awarded with the well-recognised and respected Red Dot Awards programme celebrating its 60th year. With over 4900 innovative entries from 56 countries it was a big year with tough competition.
The Xprecia Stride™ Coagulation Analyzer was also a winner of a prestigious Good Design Award in the Medical and Scientific category at the Australian International Design Awards held in Sydney. It’s wonderful to be recognised in Australia through Good Design Awards and also internationally through the wide reaching Red Dot platform, a massive achievement and great recognition for our dedicated design team.
D+I Chief Designer Chau Nguyen from our Melbourne studio led the project.
"Working with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics and Universal Biosensors was truly a collaborative experience with shared responsibilities to see through a range of challenging problems. Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics and Universal Biosensors facilitated a development program with a large run-way to allow the entire team to push hard on the limits of design, manufacturing and material performance. One such example is how they backed us to stay true to our initial product vision of the unique angled strip insertion head design feature, which changed conversations and relationships of clinicians and patients."
