Australia’s largest Industrial Design consultancy, Design + Industry (D+I) has reinforced their design excellence at this year’s Australian Design Awards.
D+I has won two (2) Design Awards, two (2) Design Marks and a Powerhouse Museum Selection for its entries which range from an audio production and mixing system, an innovative medical device used on patients with cervical and lumbar spine conditions, a premium coin-operated public payphone and a fully portable GPS device for golfers.
Winning the prestigious Design Awards were Triton, a traction therapy unit designed for Chattanooga Group US in the Medical category and Anthem, an innovative sound production system designed for Fairlight AU in the Business and Technology category.
Triton is yet another award winning product of a series D+I has designed for Chattanooga Group, the Intelect Electrotherapy range has received two (2) Australian Design Awards as well as International accolades including, GOLD IDEA, ID Magazine, GOOD Design and Medical Design Excellence Awards. This recent award for Triton highlights the specialist capabilities of D+I in both the fields of industrial design and medical product development.
Anthem cleverly combines 3 consoles into 1 for recording, mixing and post production work. Its OLED displays provide an exceptional viewing angle (up-to 160 degrees) and brightness, which means that the displays are legible even in fluorescent-lit environments. D+I have enjoyed a long working relationship with Fairlight and this is the second design award to come out of the relationship.
Design Marks went to the MP-20, a coin operated payphone designed for Siemens in the Business and Technology category and the Sureshotgps designed for Tee2Green Technologies in the Sport and Leisure category. The Sureshotgps also received a prestigious Powerhouse Museum Selection, recipients of Powerhouse Selection show excellence in design, innovative use of new technologies, are products that reflect Australian culture and lifestyle.
