Australia’s largest Industrial Design consultancy, Design + Industry (D+I) has been honoured as winner in the 2005 Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) for the Intelect Advanced and Mobile Electrotherapy range.
The Intelect product range, designed for US based company Chattanooga Group, sets new benchmarks in its product category, providing a universally appealing range of electrotherapy solutions with superior operational features. The MDEA award is the fourth competition to recognize the highly sophisticated range, adding to its success in the 2004 Australian Design Awards where the Intelect range won two Design Awards, The ID Magazine 2004 Annual Design Review who awarded the Intelect range with a Design Distinction, and the 2004 IDSA Awards where the Intelect range received a Gold IDEA Award.
Being rewarded for excellence in medical product design and manufacturing is an accolade which will offer many opportunities for D+I to gain positive exposure in an international product design market. Having received numerous awards for the Intelect range proves the capabilities of
Design + Industry in both the fields of industrial design and medical product development.
The MDEA competition is the annual premier awards program for the medical technology community. It is open to worldwide companies and individuals involved in research and development of medical devices and packaging and is the only awards program which solely focuses on the contributions made by the design of medical products.
Winners will be honoured with a presentation ceremony held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre in New York City on 14 June 2005 in conjunction with the Medical Design & Manufacturing East 2005 Conference and Exposition.
